Lighting of the Christmas Tree on Pier 39

We three got on the BART, then took our first ride on a trolley!!!! We went to the very "touristy" Pier 39 for the afternoon. If you want a souvenir from San Fransisco that's the place to go.

It was so fun walking down the Pier. They have street performers there who are really entertaining!!! These two juggled real fire torches and real sabers!! So good and so funny.
This guy had on a straight jacket and chains! It didn't take him long at all to get out!!! (Hope he never REALLY has to use that).
These toy soldiers walked throughout the boardwalk and played Christmas tunes.

Pier 39 reminded me somewhat of Main St on Mackinac Island. Let me tell you though, the smell of crab cakes doesn't smell like fudge!!!

We spent the most time and had the most fun at the end of the pier though.

Those seals are a hoot!!! Current count is 265 that are living at the pier. They were so much fun to watch - they remind me of old married couples! Still wanting to lie close to each other, but move wrong - and you'll get a bite!!!

Marshall is lazing around with Alcatraz in the background!

Of course, we lost Tim for awhile as his mind was at sea

The program ended with the lighting of the tree to the sound of jazz music. There was the old black guy just blowing is heart out on the sax! We had fun!!!
